This lovely vintage choker length necklace is decidedly in the Modernist genre. A large and rich step cut amethyst weighing approximately 27.50 carats is cradled tastefully and prominently in a bombe centerpiece. Thirty four 10mm to 10.5mm Japanese Akoya cultured pearls circle the neck and terminate at a diamond banded 18k gold clasp with 14k yellow gold plunger. Pearls range in quality from greenish cream rose to medium cream rose, sphericity is slightly off round and luster is medium. A total of eight single cut diamonds with a total approximate weight of .10ct adorn the barrel clasp. All surfaces test as 18k gold aside from the plunger clasp which is stamped 14k. Exact length is 16 inches. Gross weight 93.90 grams.
