Mid-Century Victorian Revival Ruby and Diamond Ring in Platinum and Yellow Gold
Mid-Century Victorian Revival Ruby and Diamond Ring in Platinum and Yellow Gold
This vintage, classic Victorian style ring is set with one natural ruby in the center of the platinum top overlaying the 18K yellow gold framework. This ring was made sometime between the late 1940's and early 1960's, and even though this ring is still vintage, it is technically a reproduction. At the center is an 0.88ct. round brilliant cut ruby certified by the Gemological Institute of America, as being natural with no indications of treatment, and Thai in origin. (GIA certificate #22312860 is shown in the last photo of this listing). The vivid ruby (likely from the Chanthaburi region) is surrounded by two hexagonal rings of round brilliant cut diamonds. The combined weight of the halos of diamonds is approximately 1.10ct. Diamonds range from H-J in color and VS2-SI2 in clarity. The top of the ring measures .70 inch by .66 inch. There are no markings, but the ring tests as platinum and 18K gold. Ring size is 6 1/2. Gross weight 3.8 grams
