Classic Art-Deco Platinum, Diamond and Synthetic Sapphire Bracelet 1/2 Inch Wide
This original Art-Deco period 1/2 inch wide platinum bracelet is set with a total of 210 antique single cut diamonds and with two lines of verneuil process synthetic blue sapphires*. Total approximate diamond weight is 6.50ct and overall diamond quality is H/I color and VS2 clarity. A double line of scissors cut baguette synthetic blue sapphires* run the entire length of the bracelet creating a very sophisticated and tailored appearance. The bracelet walls are intricately hand carved in flowing scroll motifs, and the top of the clasp receiver is carved in stylized floral motifs. Measures 7 3/16 inches long. The bracelet is not marked, but the metal tests as platinum. Equipped with a plunger clasp and a hidden, flip safety bar with pin on the inside for additional security when worn. Gross weight 29.40 grams.
* It was common practice by even the finest jewelry concerns to set synthetic stones in masterfully crafted and high quality jewelry, during the early twentieth century. This was done in large part because only synthetic colored stones could provide excellent uniformity of color. Add to that the fact that many small colored stones were nominal in value and this was the perfect and logical choice.
