If only this coin purse could talk. This elegant, Egyptian Revival piece has a 14K yellow gold snake head mechanism for its outer two compartments. The inner compartment has an additional gold closure for added security. The frame of the clasp for the inner purse is engraved to a Mrs. Shanley of Newark, NJ. The Main clasp of the purse feature a closure using two snake head motifs. The heads are engraved with very detailed scales and are set with a total of 4 Old Mine Cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.45ct, two demantoid garnets weighing a total of approximately 0.15ct, and four ruby eyes. The exterior of the coin purse is a beautifully textured, black snake skin. The two outer compartments are lined in a satin material, and the inner compartment is made of white leather. Stamped D14K inside. From the beautiful condition all around, it appears that this lovely piece was either rarely or never worn. Gross weight 56.8 grams.
